Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Scamsavvy website and the scam-awareness training service it provides (collectively, the “Service”). By enrolling a participant in the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
The Service provides simulated scam-awareness training. An organizer (“you” or the “submitter”) enrolls a participant (a family member or other person you choose), who — after giving explicit, verified consent — receives a simulated scam communication (text message and/or phone call) designed to teach them how to recognize and resist real scams.
The Service is for educational purposes only. The simulations are fictional. No real scam is ever perpetrated, no real money is requested, and no real account, system, or service is accessed.
2. Eligibility and consent
You must be an adult with the authority to enroll the participant you provide.
The participant must give informed consent before any simulation begins. The Service enforces this with a two-step consent flow: the participant receives an invitation, reviews a consent page, and must enter a verification code sent to their own phone to confirm they agree to participate. If the participant does not confirm consent, no simulation occurs.
By enrolling someone, you confirm that:
- The participant is an adult (or you are their legal guardian and the participant has consented to the best of their ability).
- You have their permission to provide their phone number and email address to the Service.
- You will not use the Service to harass, deceive for real-world gain, or target anyone who has asked not to be contacted.
3. Your account and information
You agree to provide accurate enrollment information. You are responsible for keeping your email address current, since it is how we deliver enrollment confirmations and training reports.
4. The participant’s experience
Participants may end a simulation at any time by:
- Ending the call or stopping the conversation;
- Replying STOP to any text message;
- Using the opt-out link provided in the consent flow.
We will honor opt-out requests promptly and will not send further simulation messages to that participant. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled.
5. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Send unsolicited messages to people who have not consented (the Service is designed to prevent this — do not attempt to bypass it);
- Enroll a participant for any purpose other than scam-awareness training;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service;
- Violate any applicable law, including anti-spam laws (e.g. Canada’s CASL, the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act, and carrier regulations such as CTIA rules and A2P 10DLC requirements).
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, scenario content, and materials, is owned by Scamsavvy. You may use the Service only as described in these Terms. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service’s content without permission.
7. No warranty; disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The Service does not guarantee that participants will change their behavior, and the Service does not provide legal, financial, or security advice. A participant who shares information during a simulation has shared it with a fictional character in a training exercise — no real scammer receives it — but you should never share real sensitive information with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scamsavvy and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from or relating to your use of the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to use the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time if we believe the Service is being misused or these Terms are being violated. You may stop using the Service at any time.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
